Your gift funds a proven model of effective, one-to-one mentorship paired with a holistic life-skills curriculum that addresses a young person’s social and emotional wellness, as well as his or her drive to achieve excellence in school, at home, and in life.
In addition to one-on-one mentorship, we provide our students with a network of support by means of small Family Groups, comprised of eight student/mentor pairs, and larger Learning Communities of 40 student/mentor pairs. We also organize two overnight retreats, and a number of social, team-building, and career-skills events throughout the academic year.
We support our mentors, too, facilitating monthly mentor-only meet-ups that cover training topics and give mentors a chance to share their experiences. CfY works year-round to recruit the best possible mentors for our students.
